RiRi Loves #1 Billboard!

RiRi Loves #1 Billboard!
Rihanna featuring Calvin Harris returns to #1 on the Hot 100, after spending two weeks at #2. This is its ninth week on top. That's the longest run at #1 by any single since Ke$ha's "TiK ToK" had nine weeks on top in early 2010. "We Found Love" also tops the 3 million mark in digital sales this week. This brings Rihanna's total of 3-million-sellers to eight, which is more than any other artist in digital history. Lady Gaga and Katy Perry are in second place with six each. All three women have been in the lead position on six 3-million-sellers. Rihanna's count also includes featured roles on Eminem's "Love The Way You Lie" and T.I.'s "Live Your Life."

RiRi, Katy, Jay Z on Billboard Chart War!

RiRi, Katy, Jay Z on Billboard Chart War!RiRi, Katy, Jay Z on Billboard Chart War!

"We Found Love" by Rihanna featuring Calvin Harris tops the Hot 100 for the seventh straight week. This ties "Umbrella" (featuring Jay-Z) and Eminem's "Love The Way You Lie," on which Rihanna was featured, as RiRi's longest-running #1 hit to date. Since 1955, only four other artists have had three or more songs remain at #1 for as many as seven weeks. Elvis Presley, fittingly, had more of these monster hits than any other artist (five). Mariah Carey is second with four. Rihanna is tied with Boyz II Men and Beyonce, with three each.

By holding at #1 for a seventh week, "We Found Love" also ties Adele's "Rolling In The Deep" as the longest-running #1 hit so far this year.

Rihanna's "S&M," which reached #1 in April, tops the 3 million mark in digital sales this week. It's the 13th song to reach that sales plateau in 2011, which sets a new record. Twelve songs topped the 3 million mark in all of 2010. Seven songs hit that level in 2009. Just two did it in 2008.

Bruno Mars Vs. Katy Perry on Billboard Hot 100

Bruno Mars Vs. Katy Perry on Billboard Hot 100Bruno Mars Vs. Katy Perry on Billboard Hot 100

RiRi featuring Calvin Harris tops the Hot 100 for the sixth straight week. Only two other Rihanna singles have held the top spot this long. "Umbrella" (featuring Jay-Z) had seven weeks on top in 2007. Eminem's "Love The Way You Lie," on which Rihanna was featured, had seven weeks on top last year. "We Found Love" also tops the 2 million mark in U.S. digital sales this week.

Katy Perry's "The One That Got Away" holds at #9 on the Hot 100. Its airplay grew by 17%, but its digital sales dropped by 31%. So you might think it's probably out of the running to become a record-breaking sixth #1 single from Perry's Teenage Dream album. Think again. The song has been discounted to 69 cents in the iTunes Store, compared to $1.29 for most current hits.

Bruno Mars' "It Will Rain" holds at #3 for the second week. The song also tops the 1 million mark in digital sales this week and jumps to #1 on Hot Digital Songs. The ballad, which is featured in the current #1 box-office hit The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1, is the first song from a movie to reach #1 on the digital sales chart since Taylor Swift's "Today Was A Fairytale" from the rom-com Valentine's Day in February 2010. Mars co-wrote and co-produced "It Will Rain" with Philip Lawrence and Ari Levine, his partners in The Smeezingtons. As such, Mars may soon have an Oscar nomination (for Best Song) to go with his multiple Grammy nominations.

RiRi Hits Billboard Singles & Album

RiRi Hits Billboard Singles & Album
RiRi hits 5 weeks in a row on Billboard Hot 100! She has achieved many milestones on the pop charts in recent years. She has amassed 11 #1 hits, a tally matched by only seven other artists since 1955. But she holds one record that I guarantee you she would like to shed. She has had more #1 hits, by far, than any other artist who has never topped The Billboard 200. It's not like she hasn't come close: Rihanna's last five albums have made the top five. Her highest-charting album, Good Girl Gone Bad, peaked at #2 in 2007. Her new Talk That Talk debuts at #3 this week, matching the peak of her 2010 album, Loud. It's just that she can't quite seem to make it to #1.

RiRi Vs. Katy Perry on Billboard!

RiRi Vs. Katy Perry on Billboard!RiRi Vs. Katy Perry on Billboard!
Will Katy Perry hits #1 again? Her latest single "The One That Got Away" jumps from #15 to #10 on the Hot 100, becoming the sixth top 10 hit from her 2010 album Teenage Dream. That's the first album in 17 years to spawn six top 10 hits. The last was Janet Jackson's "janet.," which achieved the feat in November 1994 (when Perry was just 10).
"We Found Love" by Rihanna featuring Calvin Harris logs its fourth straight week at #1 on the Hot 100. It tops Hot Digital Songs for the fifth straight week. It also moves up to #1 on the Hot 100 Airplay chart. It's Rihanna's ninth #1 on Hot 100 Airplay. Only one artist has had as many or more #1 songs on that chart in its 21-year history. Mariah Carey is the leader with 11.
"We Found Love" also holds at #1 in the U.K. for the sixth week.

RiRi Vs. FloRida on HOT 100!

RiRi Vs. FloRida on HOT 100!
RiRi just logs a second week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with "We Found Love" (featuring Calvin Harris), which scores Airplay Gainer honors for a second consecutive week.

"Found," the lead single from Rihanna's sixth studio album, "Talk That Talk," due Nov. 21, spends a second week at No. 1 on the Digital Songs chart with 235,000 downloads sold, down 3%, according to Nielsen SoundScan. On Radio Songs, "Found" charges 7-4 (103 million all-format audience impressions, up 22%, according to Nielsen BDS).

As reported upon the song's Hot 100 coronation last week, when "Found" became her 11th No. 1 on the survey, Rihanna became just the seventh artist in the chart's 53-year history to tally at least 11 toppers, joining the Beatles (20), Mariah Carey (18), Michael Jackson (13), Madonna (12), the Supremes (12) and Whitney Houston (11).

Rihanna 11th #1 Billboard Hits!

Rihanna 11th #1 Billboard Hits!Rihanna 11th #1 Billboard Hits!
Yasss, RiRi on top again! Rihanna ft. Calvin Harris "We Found Love" jumps from #2 to #1 in its sixth week on the Hot 100. It's Rihanna's 11th #1, a total matched by only three other female solo artists in the chart's 53-year history. Mariah Carey leads among female solo artists with 18 #1 hits, followed by Madonna with 12 and Whitney Houston, also with 11. Rihanna this week pulls ahead of Janet Jackson, who has had 10.

Rihanna notched her first #1 hit, "SOS," in May 2006. These other women have had far longer to amass these hits. Madonna, Houston, Jackson and Carey all landed their first #1 hits between 1984 and 1990.
"We Found Love" took just six weeks to top the Hot 100. It's the fast-rising #1 by any artist since Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" debuted at #1 in February. The song also tops the 1 million mark in digital sales this week.

Rihanna is featured on two other songs in this week's top 30: Coldplay's "Princess Of China," which debuts at #20, and Nicki Minaj's "Fly," which jumps from #28 to #22 in its 10th week.

Adele's "Someone Like You" holds at #1 for the fifth straight week.  "Rolling In The Deep" was #1 for seven weeks earlier this year. Adele is the first female solo artist to log five weeks at #1 in a calendar year with two strictly solo recordings. Beyonce, Monica and Mariah Carey also did it (in 2003, 1998 and 1995, respectively), if you include collabos.

"We Found Love" by Rihanna featuring Calvin Harris leaps from #6 to #2 in its fifth week on the Hot 100. In addition, the song holds at #1 in the U.K. for the third straight week. It's Rihanna's longest-running #1 in the U.K. since "Umbrella" (featuring Jay-Z) topped the chart there for 10 weeks in 2007.

"S&M" is already #1 Hot 100's by the first full week of digital sales for the song's "Rih-mix" featuring Britney Spears. All versions of the song, which claims the Hot 100's Digital Gainer award and becomes Rihanna's record-extending 10th No. 1 on Digital Songs, sold a combined 293,000 downloads, according to Nielsen SoundScan, a 108% increase over last week. Britney Spears as featured artist on "S&M," earns her fifth Hot 100 No. 1 and second this year, following her own "Hold It Against Me" in January. She had previously reigned with her debut single "...Baby One More Time" in 1999 and returned to the summit with "Womanizer" (2008) and "3" (2009).
