Amy Back To Black The Chart!

Amy Back To Black
According to Nielsen SoundScan, American record buyers are making like their British counterparts and snapping up the deceased singer's catalog in a big way -- 50,000 Amy Winehouse albums were sold in the past week, 37,000 of which were her breakthrough 2006 disc Back to Black, giving the LP its best sales week since March 2008 (it came in Number Nine). Frank charted at Number 57, and her Back to Black: B-Sides EP returned in Number 152. In addition, 111,000 digital Winehouse tracks were sold ("Rehab" led the way with 34,000, good for Number 46 on the Digital Songs chart), and radio spun 170 percent more Winehouse tunes on Saturday, July 23rd, the day her body was discovered in her London apartment.

Top album chart still Adele, the woman who most benefited from Winehouse's retro-soul revival, returns to the top of the Billboard 200 today for the 11th time with 77,000 copies of 21 sold.
and #2 spot is Kidz Bop 20 -- the covers disc featuring a neutered version of Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" -- debuts in Number Two with 69,000 and 3 Doors Down's Time of My Life is right behind in Three with 60,000. Beyoncé's 4 is Number Four, and DJ Khaled's We the Best Forever arrives with 53,000 copies sold. Last week's top seller, Blake Shelton's Red River Blue, sinks to Number Six with 47,000, followed by Jason Aldean's My Kinda Party (43,000), 311's new Universal Pulse (46,000), and Selena Gomez & the Scene's When the Sun Goes Down (28,000).
