"3" is a song by American pop singer Britney Spears, from her upcoming second greatest hits compilation, The Singles Collection. It was released as the lead single of the album on September 29, 2009 by Jive Records. The song was produced by Max Martin and Shellback while Spears was on tour in Sweden. "3" is an uptempo dance song, that features a heavy bassline and has influences of electropop and rave. Lyrically, the track is about threesomes. The song debuted at number one on the US Billboard Hot 100, breaking many of the chart records. The music video for "3" was filmed on October 5 and October 6, 2009. It was directed by Diane Martel and choreographed by Tone & Rich. Images have been released as a sneak peak of the video. The first showcases Spears dressed in a sheer, black, belly-baring top and straight pants surrounded by six male dancers infront of a white wall hung with barcode-like light installations. Spears is also found in another scene sitting in a sparkly black dress looking towards a mirror while a third scene displays her in a white leotard dancing provocatively with two of the male dancers.
